Here are a few things you will want to plan around for the next few weeks:

1. Sunday, April 26: Singing at MLBC (a.m.) and Oak View Baptist, Irving (p.m.)

8:00 a.m.: Call time for band/vocal team

9:00 a.m.: Call time for the choir

9:30 a.m.: We sing at our church

3:30 p.m.: Leave MLBC for Irving (Parents, please let Randall know if you are coming and can transport any students)

6:00 p.m.: Sing for the p.m. service at Oak View Baptist Church, Irving

7:00 p.m.: Pizza with their youth group

8:30 p.m.: Return to MLBC

2. Saturday, May 2: Golf Tournament at Creekview Golf Club in Crandall

We will be signing up this Sunday at rehearsal for times to work. Each choir member is asked to sign up for one shift.

3. Sunday, May 3: Parents Meeting at 4:45 p.m. after choir rehearsal

This meeting will be about end-of-year dates, finances, and the Choir Tour/Mission Trip. Anticipated cost for the trip is $400 (not counting the reduction they will hopefully get from the upcoming fundraiser). By 5/3, each student should have the $50 deposit paid, plus an additional $50 to cover some expenses we will incur before the trip.

4. Sunday, May 17: We will lead worship at MLBC.

5. Sunday, June 15: We will lead worship at MLBC. 

Upcoming Dates

Hi everyone!

Here are some dates for you to remember for the next few weeks:

Sunday, March 29:  Dance Team at 3:00 & Choir at 4:00 (no Vocal Team)

Wednesday, April 1: Rehearsal with the Adult Choir from 6:45 – 7:00 (no joke!)

Sunday, April 5: Call time is 9:10 a.m. to sing in the 9:30 service with the Adult Choir. We will be singing, “Crown You With Praise”. You need to look nice, but you do not need to wear your uniforms.

Sunday, April 5: Regular Rehearsal & Cell Phone Deadline

Sunday, April 12: No Rehearsal

Sunday, April 19: Choir only unless otherwise notified

Sunday, April 26: We will lead worship at MLBC in the 9:30 service. We will also lead worship at Oak View Baptist Church in Irving that evening. We will leave the church at 3:30 p.m. and return around 8:30 p.m.

Back from Spring Break!

Hopefully everyone has had a wonderful Spring Break! This is just a reminder that choir will start up again this Sunday, March 22. We will be on the usual schedule, except that there will be no vocal team for the next 2 weeks – only dance team and choir. See you Sunday!

In case you missed the meeting yesterday, here is some important information for you:

1. Important Dates

• We will be singing Sunday morning, March 8 and wearing our uniforms.

Call times:

Band/Vocal Team: 8:00 a.m.

Choir: 9:00 a.m.

*** Don’t forget that it is time change Sunday!

• April 5: Lead worship with Celebration Choir
• April 29: lead worship for Oakview, Irving

Karaoke Night!

Plan to come support Grace, Taylor, and Nick and the Forney Middle School Choirs at a Karaoke Night. It promises to be lots of fun. Here are the details:

Date: Saturday, February 21

Time: 7:30 – 11:00 p.m.

 Place: 13851 FM 548 (past Wal Mart & movie theatre)

Cost: $5 per person (smoothies, coffee drinks, and shakes available)

Summer Trip Information!

Here is the trip information for this summer:

Dates:   June 20-28

Location: Louisville , KY

Ministry Assignment: TBD but probable events include VBS, sing for WMU National meeting, etc.

Cost:  Anticipated at $400/person ($50 discount for second student for families with more than one participant)

Commitment Deadline: March 1—card and $50

Parent Meeting: Sunday, Marcy 1 at 4:45 p.m.

We will discuss fundraisers and receive commitment cards & deposits.

• Commitment cards and a tentative trip itenerary for the summer 2009 trip have been mailed!
• March 1: Due date for commitment card and $50 deposit
• March 8: Ignite Choir will be leading in the 9:30 a.m. service. This is also time change Sunday.
• We have regular rehearsals this Sunday
• You will receive a rehearsal and singing calendar shortly.

Choir Retreat this Sunday

We have a choir retreat this Sunday, November 23. The schedule is:

12:15 p.m.: Lunch in the Choir Room while we watch the 1st quarter of the Cowboys game

12:45 – 2:30 p.m.: Work on the new music for the Music Conference

2:30 – 3:30 p.m.: Vocal Team & Dance Team rehearsals

4:00 p.m.: Great Turkey Take-Out
